Copper Pipe Thieves Caught In Action At Hudson Valley Building, Police Say Two Hudson Valley men were nabbed while allegedly stealing copper wire and pipes in the basement of a building. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 2:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at a building on Patriot Hills Drive in Stony Point. According to Lt. Daniel Schoales of the Stony Point Police, officers responding to the building on a suspicious person call could power tools being used inside. The officers, with help from Stony Point Police detectives and Rockland County Sheriff's deputies, were able to call two men out of the building without incident.  …

Police Investigating Thefts From Central Hudson Substations In Area Know anything? New York State Police investigators in the Hudson Valley are seeking the public’s assistance in locating wanted suspects who have allegedly been stealing copper from Central Hudson substations in the region. An alert was issued by state police investigators on Friday, Jan. 7 as they attempt to locate suspects who have been removing copper from multiple substations in northern Dutchess County. Police said that the suspects are removing in-use copper ground wires which destabilize the electric substation.
