Beginning on Monday night, May 7, crews from Tappan Zee Constructors will begin preparation for the installation of steel girders and concrete deck panels for the bridge over River Road at the Rockland landing. I-84 Bridge Work Over Route 9W Starts Work is underway on an extensive, multi-million dollar project to rehabilitate the Interstate 84 bridge over Route 9W in Newburgh. The $14.7 million project will raise the height of the overpass from 14 to 16 feet at the interchange. The funding was awarded by the New York State Bridge Authority in late February. During construction - which is expected to last for nearly two years - will be done two lanes at a time, from south to north, and is expected to be completed in 2020.
