Retired Police Sergeant Who Served For Decades In Westchester Dies A police department in Westchester has announced the death of one of its former members who spent his life serving his community and country.  Dutchess County resident Andrew Fischer, Sr., a retired Eastchester Police sergeant, died on Tuesday, April 9 at the age of 84, according to his obituary. Fischer, an Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War era, joined the department in 1964 and served until his retirement in 1987 after 23 years, according to Eastchester Police.
