Investigation Determines Cause Of WWI Replica Fatal Plane Crash In Red Hook An initial investigation has determined the cause of a crash that claimed the life of a well-known pilot at an air show in New York. Just before 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Dutchess County, a World War I-era replica Fokker D.VIII caught fire, causing the plane to crash near the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome during an exhibition in Red Hook. Vintage Plane Involved In Air Show Mid-Air Collision Crash Lands In Trees In Hudson Valley Officials are investigating following a mid-air collision during an air show in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 3:30 p.m., Sunday, July 28, in the area of the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Rhinebeck. NY Air Show Coming To Area This Weekend Airplane buffs will want to head to Stewart International Airport in Orange County this weekend to get a head-spinning thrill during the 2018 New York Air Show.The event runs Saturday, Sept. 15, and Sunday, Sept. 16, with gates opening at 9 a.m at the airport in New Windsor. This year's lineup will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds as the headliner followed by more than 15 different military and civilian performers.
