Hochul Blasts Trump Admin's 'Cruel' Funding Cuts To Health, Addiction Services Across NY
More than $360 million in federal funding is being stripped from New York’s public health, mental health, and addiction programs.
The cuts, attributed to changes under the Trump administration, could leave critical services in jeopardy for millions of residents, Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office warned Friday, March 28.
Among the services expected to be impacted are COVID surveillance, addiction recovery, and health crisis support.

Kitty Dukakis, the wife of former Massachusetts Governor and presidential nominee Michael Dukakis, died on Friday, March 21, at the age of 88, her family said.

A new list of the world’s happiest countries has yielded some surprising results.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network's 2019 World Happiness Report ranks each country using six different variables: income, freedom, trust, healthy life expectancy, social support and generosity.
The top five happiest countries, according to the report, are Finland (No. 1), Denmark (No. 2), Norway (No. 3), Iceland (No. 4) and the Netherlands (No. 5).

Michael A. Ruggiero Of Westchester Dies At 33
Michael A. Ruggiero, Jr., a lifelong resident of Yonkers died suddenly on Sunday, April 29, after a long battle with addiction. He was 33 years old.
Michael is survived by his wife, Nicola "Nikki," his parents, Michael & Eileen (nee Mahedy); his loving siblings, Andrew and Andrea and his adoring grandmother, Peggy Mahedy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Michael's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital – www.stjude.org.
