Lourdes High School Football Team Plays For State Title

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. – The Our Lady of Lourdes football team will go for their first-ever state title on Friday afternoon in Syracuse against Buffalo's South Park High School, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

The team is the first from Dutchess County to play for a state football title in 18 years.

Lourdes upset higher-ranked opponents to get to the final, even winning the sectional final on an overtime touchdown after blocking two kicks, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal.

The game is at 3 p.m., and will be televised locally on Time Warner Sports Net.
