When players come to the Renegades, a Class A Tampa Bay Rays affiliate, they typically stay with a host family, which have volunteered to house - and feed - players for the Renegades. The only perk for the families is game tickets.
Often the players become just like a part of the family, going out on family outings, dinners, and whatever else - when they're not playing baseball.
Daily Voice caught up with Renegades second baseman Miles Mastrobuoni and pitcher J.D. Busfield - both from California - at Beacon Creamery ice cream parlor in Beacon recently with team mom Paige Flori.
Flori told Daily Voice the main reason she and her husband love hosting players is to 'help them chase a dream.' This will be the fourth season the Floris have hosted players.
We took the opportunity to speak with them about their arrangement. Check out the video to see the interview with Flori and both players.
