State Sen. Sue Serino and Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro were among those cutting the ribbon to celebrate the opening of the new course - currently nine holes, with plans to expand to 18 holes by fall - that's open seven days a week in the 600-acre park.
Assemblywoman Didi Barrett, County Legislator Greg Pulver and Park Director Steve Olsen were also on hand for the grand opening.
The course was designed by Dan Doyle, of Warwick, course designer and disc golf competitor.
"I looked at the land and it was just fantastic," Doyle said. "You couldn't get a better piece of land for a disc golf course. Anyone can come out and play, anyone can throw a frisbee. It's just like hiking, and throwing a frisbee at a target."
The course features two layouts - one for beginners and another for experienced players.
