Troopers from the Dover barracks responded to the crash around 5 p.m. on Route 55, said Trooper Melissa McMorris, spokeswoman for the New York State Police.

The incident occurred when 22-year-old Andrew Chuisano, of Sherman, Conn., was operating a 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on State Route 55. Chuisano accelerated and the passenger, 27-year-old Alicia Capozziello of Waterbury, Conn., fell off the rear of the cycle, McMorris said.

Capozziello was transported to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, she added.
