Woman Charged With DWI In Wappinger Had BAC Twice Legal Limit, Police Say

WAPPINGER, N.Y. — A New Jersey woman was charged Friday night with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated after New York State Police stopped her for swerving out of her lane on Route 376, according to police.

Shelby N. McGrath, 24, of Hewitt was pulled over on Feb. 12 by New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks. An investigation revealed she was intoxicated at the time of the stop, police said.

A breath sample revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .19 percent, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication, police said.

McGrath was released on summonses pending a March 1 court appearance at the Town of Wappinger Court.
