Joseph G. Todaro, 52, has been charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony, according to police.
The arrest was made in connection with the dispute involving damage to two vehicles at a residence in the Town of Wappinger on Jan. 31, police report.
Todaro was arraigned before the Town of LaGrange Justice Court and released on $4,000 cash bail, officials report.
He is due to appear in the Town of Wappinger Court on Wednesday, Feb.17, according to police.
Todaro has been on leave from his position, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported Village Mayor Matt Alexander as saying. Alexander did not say when that leave began, the report said.
