Visitor Brought Pot Into Prison In Fishkill, Police Say

FISHKILL, N.Y. -- A New York City woman found herself behind bars after bringing drugs to the Downstate Correctional Facility while visiting an inmate on Wednesday, July 6.

According to New York State police, Tatiana McLaughlin, 25, was found to be in possession of suboxone, a medication used to treat narcotic opiate addiction, and synthetic marijuana during her visit.

She was arrested and charged with felony first-degree promoting prison contraband, felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree promoting prison contraband, police said.

McLaughlin was arraigned in the Town of Fishkill Court and was sent to the Dutchess County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 20.
