The unidentified teens were arrested Thursday following an investigation into an incident on Nov. 23, where a 13-year-old girl told police that three men had sexually assaulted her and one had a handgun, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Det. Lt. Matt Clark.
Police also believe the teens may be involved in six armed robberies in the city since the beginning of November.
The brothers, one 17, and the other 15 were arrested following an investigation by the City of Poughkeepsie Detective Bureau and the Neighborhood Recovery Unit. Each was charged with one count of robbery.
The 15-year-old was also charged with one count of rape, Clark said.
The 17-year-old was arraigned and sent to the Dutchess County Jail. The 15-year-old was arraigned and remanded into a secure juvenile detention facility.
A handgun was also recovered during the course of the investigation.
