Seen Him? Man At Large After Robbing 62-Year-Old Woman In Poughkeepsie, Police Say

The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department is searching for a man they say attacked a 62-year-old woman with mace before forcibly taking her purse.

Police said the manhunt focuses on Derick A. Hinton, 28, of Poughkeepsie who is believed to driving a 2014 white Nissan Sentra four-door vehicle with Texas temporary tags 446711F, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark.

The incident took place around 9:30 a.m. July 11 on Garden Street when Hinton allegedly sprayed the woman in the face with what is believed to be mace, causing burning and significant pain to the victim, Clark said.

He then forcibly grabbed her purse and fled.

There is a warrant issued for Hinton for felony robbery, he added.
