Shortly after 7 p.m. on Monday, April 24, New York State Police troopers were dispatched to Vasser Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, where there was a reported assault that took place earlier in Clinton.
According to police, the subsequent investigation into the incident determined that 24-year-old Stanfordville resident Shane Baker struck his victim in the face, causing serious physical injury during a dispute.
Baker was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, a felony. He was arraigned in the Town of Clinton Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on Thursday, May 4.
