On Monday, New York State Police announced that last week, they had arrested 30-year-old Sean Dixon, who had been apprehended in Port Chester on a separate crime and was extradited to state police in Dutchess.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 2, troopers were dispatched to the Just-a-Buck store on Route 9 for a reported larceny. Upon arrival, police said that the alleged victim reported that while bringing the store’s deposit to the bank, she was approached by a male subject who forcibly stole the deposit envelope and her cell phone. He then fled the scene.
According to police, the subsequent investigation determined that the alleged victim had fabricated that story and allowed her boyfriend, Dixon, to take the cash. On Jan. 2, state police charged 22-year-old Fishkill resident Erica Walker with a felony count of grand larceny. A warrant was then issued for Dixon.
State police said that on Sunday, Feb. 26, police in Port Chester contacted them and said that Dixon had been arrested for a different crime. Dixon was turned over to state police on Wednesday, March 8. He was charged with a felony charge of third-degree grand larceny and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
