Officers from the East Fishkill Police Department were dispatched to a Woodcrest Drive residence at approximately 7:15 p.m. on June 28, where there was a report of a male suspect who was “walking around the complainant’s driveway, punching the ground and hitting his head on the ground.”
According to police, the officers responded to the area, only to receive updated information that the suspect had fled the area in a white SUV. The driver - later identified as Carmel resident Brian Flandreau, 39 - was tracked down on Carpenter Road by a member of the East Fishkill Police Department.
During the subsequent investigation, it was determined that Flandreau had a suspended driver’s license, and upon being taken into custody, investigators found a clear plastic ziploc bag containing a crystal-like substance that tested positive for the presence of crystal meth, and a tan powdery substance was also recovered, which tested positive for heroin.
Flandreau was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Following arraignment, Flandreau was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. He is due back in court at a later date to answer the charges against him.
