ID Released For 25-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Route 55 Crash

A 25-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash Route 55 early Thursday morning.

Kevin A. Sheehan of Poughkeepsie was killed when his 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle, being operated at a high rate of speed struck, a 2017 GMC Acadia around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.

Both vehicles were eastbound on Route 55 near Noxon Road when the crash occurred. Sheehan was ejected from the motorcycle, state police said.

 Responding Troopers began life-saving measures upon arrival until Lagrange Fire Department members took over. 

Sheehan was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead by the on-duty Emergency Room physician.

The State Police were assisted on scene by the Troop K Collision Reconstruction Unit, Dutchess County Sherriff’s Office, Lagrange Fire Department, and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office.
