Thomas Angell, 37, was arrested following an investigation into a complaint received on Wednesday, July 12, for an event that took place during a domestic dispute on May 31, according to Capt. Ken Roman.
Angell has been employed as a prison guard at the facility since Nov. 30, 2009, according to Rachel Heath with the Department of Corrections.
She added that he was suspended from his $63,000 a year job without pay effective July 21.
Following his arrest, Angell was sent to the Dutchess County Jail on $20,000 cash bail. He has since posted bail.
