Erratic Driving Stop Leads To DWI Charge For LaGrange Woman, Town Of Poughkeepsie Police Say

A 22-year-old woman has been charged after her erratic driving led to a traffic stop, police say.

Town of Poughkeepsie Police responded to the area of Haight Avenue on the report of an erratic driver on Wednesday, March 27 around 7:15 p.m.

The responding officers were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop on Manchester Road.

Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Emily E. Sherow of LaGrange, was driving the vehicle while intoxicated, police said.

Sherow was arrested and charged with:

  • DWI
  • Aggravated DWI
  • Driving with BAC of .08 or more
  • Numerous traffic infractions

Sherow was released on traffic summons and is scheduled to return to the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court on Wednesday, April 17.
