East Fishkill PD Conducts Active Shooter Training

EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- School's out, but the hallways of schools in the Wappingers Central School District were put to another use last week: active shooter drills.

The East Fishkill Police Department and other local law enforcement conducted active shooter training last week, in public schools.

The East Fishkill Police Department conducted its yearly active shooter/active violence response training. The Putnam County Sheriff Department, Kent Police Department, Drug Enforcement Agency and Dutchess County Probation Office also participated.

The East Fishkill Police Department thanked the district, in a Wednesday Facebook post, for letting the schools -- and even parked school buses -- be used for such training over the last eight years.
