21-Year-Old Stopped For Speeding In Pleasant Valley Faces Drug Charges

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A speeding stop on Route 44 in Pleasant Valley led to the arrest of a 21-year-old Dutchess County man who was in possession of amphetamines, heroin and other drugs.

State police troopers on patrol on Route 44 on Monday when they stopped Pleasant Valley resident Erik Dianni for speeding.

During the subsequent stop, police reported that Dianni was found to be in possession of Suboxone, Alprazolam, Zolpidem, Tartrate, Amphetamine, Dextroamphetamine, cocaine and heroin.

Dianni was arrested and charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was also charged with five counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors.

After being arraigned, Dianni was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. He is due back in the Town of Pleasant Valley Justice Court next month.
