The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 62-year-old Randy Johnson, who has moved to a residence on Hudson Avenue in Poughkeepsie.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Johnson as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent sex offender.
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Johnson raped a pair of women in 1997 and he was convicted of two counts of first-degree rape in February 1998. Johnson was sentenced to seven years in state prison and is now under the jurisdiction of the Poughkeepsie City Police Department.
