According to City of Poughkeepsie Police Department Det. Lt. Matt Clark the unidentified teacher visited the school's administrative office on Wednesday and was later seen entering the school.

Following the teacher's visit, one of the classrooms was found with paint dumped on the floor and some furniture, Clark said.

"At this point, there is no proof that the teacher had anything to do with the vandalism," he said. "One of our detectives has talked with him, but we continue to investigate the incident."

Police were alerted to the crime by Poughkeepsie City School District officials following the teacher's visit to the school.
