The first robbery took place on Nov. 11 at the store located at the intersection of Mansion Street and Winnikee Avenue by a man armed with a handgun, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark.
During the robbery, the man entered the store, pulled out the gun and struck the clerk with the handgun in the head, and stole the contents of the cash register, Clark said.
The man is described as a tall thin black male, a hoodie tied over his face, blue bubble coat, dark gray pants and a blue brimmed hat.
The second robbery took place on Nov. 30 at the store on the corner of Pershing Avenue and Mansion Street by two men, one of whom had a handgun, Clark said.
During the robbery, the men forced the store owner to the floor while holding a gun to his head. One of the men yelled “shoot him, shoot him," the store owner screamed and the men grabbed money from behind the counter. The men took the money and fled south on Pershing Avenue.
The man with the gun is described as being a tall thin black male, with a black coat. The man without the gun matched the description of the earlier robbery as being as being a tall thin black male, blue bubble coat and dark colored hoodie underneath.
