Palen Road Bridge In East Fishkill Back To Normal After Repairs

EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. – The Dutchess County Department of Public Works announced that repair work on Bridge E-9 on Palen Road in East Fishkill has been completed, and the bridge is now open to regular traffic.

The work replaced deteriorating beams on the bridge, raising the structure slightly and adding three-feet shoulders.

Original plans for the two-stage project, which started in July, included completion by this spring, but target dates were moved up thanks to an accelerated schedule and a handful of temporary closures.

There are alternating lane closures still planned in the spring for paving and final re-striping, which is planned to last four weeks.
