Judge Tosses Case Against Wappingers Falls Man, Cites Insufficient Evidence

CARMEL, N.Y. -- The case against a Wappingers Falls man accused of stealing from ATMs he serviced was thrown out Friday after a judge found the prosecution's evidence insufficient, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Dean Morgan, 61, had faced charges in Putnam County connected with thefts that occurred between 2011 and 2013, according to the report. 

Morgan was employed with Water Wash Solutions, Inc., a Brewster-based company that services and restocks ATMs, according to the report.

On Friday, Putnam County Judge James Reitz dismissed the case, noting that the prosecution had presented "hearsay evidence" to the grand jury.
