In the program, titled "Dutch St. Nicholas: The Saint Who Became Santa," Rose will examine the various changes in his veneration and how he was brought to America by the Dutch in the 17th century and transformed into Santa Claus in the 19th century.
The talk encompasses such subjects as literature, religion, the fine arts and Dutch foodways to describe the story of his generosity and its lasting impact.
