The newbies include: Ava Bynum (Hudson Valley Seed), Richard Mayfield (Orange County Government), Sharon McGinnis (Central Hudson), Scott Sweeney (Marshall & Sterling), Herb K. White (Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union), and Steven V. Lant, who is rejoining the board.
Kevin Cleary, IBM’s vice president of sales and transaction support, is now second vice-chair of the board, while Diane Passaro, an assistant vice president and commercial loan officer with the Orange Bank & Trust Company, is now its secretary.
Bynum heads Hudson Valley Seed, which educates children using school gardens through curriculum-integrated lessons focused on healthy eating, outdoor learning and academic success.
Lant, a Poughkeepsie resident is a retired CEO of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. and a recipient of the United Way’s Distinguished Leadership Award. He has also served as director of The Edison Electric Institute and the Business Council of NY.
Mayfield, a Newburgh resident, served a district director of Congressman Ben Gilman’s office. He worked in the state Assembly for four years before becoming an spokesman for Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana. He currently heads the county’s Office of Community Development.
McGinnis, of Montgomery, is vice president of human resources and safety and chief ethics officer for Central Hudson Gas & Electric.
Sweeney, a lifelong Poughkeepsie resident, is active in the community on a number of nonprofit groups. He is a sales executive with the specialty risks division of Marshall & Sterling Insurance.
White, has more than 15 years of experience in the banking industry and is currently vice president of lending for the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union.
