Hrhcare Raises Over $600K To Bring Healthcare To New Yorkers In Need At Annual Benefit

Hudson River Health Care (HRHCare), one of the largest federally qualified health center (FQHC) networks in the country, hosted its annual Cornucopia Benefit on Saturday, November 2. Held at The Altman Building in Manhattan, the event raised over $600,000 to support the comprehensive primary and preventive health services that HRHCare provides to more than 225,000 people in need throughout the Hudson Valley, New York City, and Long Island. This was the first gala for HRHCare and Brightpoint Health, a network of FQHCs throughout the five boroughs of New York City, as a combined organization since their successful merge in December of 2018.

During the event, guests also had the opportunity to contribute to a special fund in support of HRHCare’s HIV/AIDS care programs, which include comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention, and education programs across the HRHCare network.

“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s Cornucopia Benefit, our first gala as a combined organization with Brightpoint Health,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, CEO of HRHCare. “The funds we raised will bring much needed primary and preventive health care to underserved populations in our communities and ensure that even more New Yorkers have access to our high-quality services.”

In honor of their support of the HRHCare mission, awards were presented to Doug Wirth, President and CEO of Amida Care, Scott Fein, CEO of BioReference, Jeffrey and Catherine Pavero, owners of Pavero Farms and Cold Storage Corporation, and Brightpoint Care Board Chair John Russell on behalf of the entire Brightpoint Care Board.

“We have partnered with HRHCare for nearly 20 years and have hosted their Days of Health program at our farm,” said Catherine Pavero, co-owner of Pavero Farms and Cold Storage Corporation. “The health services that these programs bring are necessary to the work that our employees carry out. Thank you for honoring us and continuing this valued partnership.”

“When Brightpoint Health merged with Hudson River Health Care in 2018, I knew that this merger would enhance our ability to improve access to primary, preventive, and behavioral health care for even more people,” said John Russell, Brightpoint Care Board Chair. “Brightpoint Health and Hudson River Health Care share common roots and values, and together we are building a better future for the communities we serve.”
