The day of activities is to feature various events scattered across the city throughout the day on April 16, according to the city's website. The events aim to "celebrate the city, the environment and the beautiful Mid-Hudson River Valley in which we live," according to the city.
The first event is the Main Street & Fall Kill Cleanup, an effort organized by Middle Main and the Vassar Environment Cooperative. More than 100 volunteers are to assemble at 9:45 a.m. on April 16 at 517 Main St. (Murphy Park at Cherry Street). The group will engage in neighborhood cleanups across Poughkeepsie, organizers said.
Another event scheduled for that morning aims to provide an outdoors activity through which participants can enjoy the Earth.
