The Columbia County wreck happened in the town of Ghent, on State Route 9H at Falls Road, at around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 15.
Investigators were on scene of a collision between a passenger vehicle and a dump truck where one person was confirmed dead at the scene, according to New York State Police.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone else was injured in the crash. Authorities did not publicly identify the deceased.
State Route 9H was closed between county routes 22 and 25 while crews investigated.
