Kathy Hochul has announced a statewide surge in law enforcement patrols and safety measures to protect travelers during Thanksgiving week, one of the busiest and riskiest times for road travel. Scheduled roadwork could delay Long Island drivers during the week of Thanksgiving. In the Town of Huntington, crews will conduct overnight closures at the interchange of the Long Island Expressway and State Route 110 (Broad Hollow Road) on the night of Tuesday, Nov. 26. The Suffolk County man, of Halesite, was found with a loaded gun in his carry-on bag during a security screening at LaGuardia Airport on Thursday, Sept. 5, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) said. Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that New Yorkers can now have a digital version of their state-issued driver's license or identification right on their smartphones.
