Fatal Crash: Person Struck By Car On Busy Long Island Roadway A person died after being hit by a car overnight on a busy Long Island roadway. It happened at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in Melville, on Broadhollow Road (Route 110), between Spagnoli Road and Ruland Road.  A 23-year-old Huntington Station man was driving a 2003 Toyota sedan northbound in the left lane when he struck the man who was crossing the road, Suffolk County Police said. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, where he was pronounced dead. Morris, of Huntington Station, was uninjured.…

It happened on the Meadowbrook State Parkway north of Bay Parkway in Hempstead, at around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6. New York State Police said a vehicle was heading southbound in the northbound lanes when it struck an oncoming car. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. ID Released For 44-Year-Old Struck, Killed By SUV In Nassau County The identity has been released of a man who was killed after being struck by an SUV on Long Island. The crash happened around 11:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in Inwood. The man was struck by a 2004 Ford Explorer traveling southbound on Sheridan Boulevard in the vicinity of Nassau Avenue.  He's now been identified as Queens resident Patrick Sean Mwesigwa, age 44, of Far Rockaway. A 35-year-old man who was driving the Explorer remained at the scene. The pedestrian suffered severe trauma and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician.  …

28-Year-Old ID'd After Fatal Long Island Crash A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Long Island. Fatal Crash: 51-Year-Old ID'd As Victim After Corvette Slams Into Tree In Deer Park One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash on a Long Island roadway. It happened around 7:15 a.m. Sunday, June 30, in Deer Park. Suffolk County Police said the victim was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Corvette eastbound on Grand Boulevard when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree at the corner of West 11th Street.  Dominick Benedetto, age 51, of Deer Park, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead. Jared Rueb, age 46, was operating a 2005 Honda motorcycle southbound on North Ocean Avenue by Peconic Avenue, when he lost control and struck a curb, according to Suffolk County Police. He was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police have not yet released Rueb's place of residence.
