Tractor-Trailer's Roof Sheared Off In Meadowbrook State Parkway Crash
A crash involving a heavily damaged tractor-trailer was causing delays for Long Island drivers on the Meadowbrook State Parkway. The wreck happened in the northbound lanes near exit M2 (Zeckendorf Boulevard) shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. New York State Department of Transportation cameras showed a tractor-trailer with its roof apparently sheared off just north of the overpass. An NYPD detective formally confessed to causing a drunken, fiery crash on a Long Island highway that injured two people. George Moore, age 40, of Freeport, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular assault and related charges in Nassau County Court on Wednesday, Nov. 13, in connection with a wreck on the Meadowbrook State Parkway. A trooper is recovering after he was rammed by a suspect’s vehicle on the Southern State Parkway. The incident happened in the westbound lanes near Meadowbrook State Parkway in North Merrick at around 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1. Alleged CVS Thief Nabbed Following Long Island Crash
A Long Island man has been arrested after police said he stole cash from a CVS, fled from a traffic stop, and eventually crashed into an overpass. The Glen Cove incident occurred just after 1 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21. According to Nassau County Police, 20-year-old Xavier Diaz walked into the CVS located at 201 Glen Street, where he allegedly demanded the employees to open two cash registers.
