BMW Driver Flees Illegal Long Island Car Meet, Kills Lights, Blows Through Reds A reckless driver tore away from an illegal car meet, cut his lights, and blasted through red lights to evade Suffolk County police—but officers tracked him down the next night and seized his BMW, authorities said. Clyde Jean Baptiste, 23, of Mastic Beach, fled from a street takeover at Motor Parkway and Joshua’s Path in Hauppauge at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. When the Street Takeover Task Force moved in, Baptiste allegedly shut off his headlights and floored it, blowing through intersections in a high-speed escape attempt.…

1 Suffers Severe Injuries In Crash On Long Island A two-vehicle Long Island crash left one of the drivers seriously injured. It happened around 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct.13, in Hauppauge. A 33-year-old man from Brentwood was driving a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Joshuas Path, near Stonehenge Lane.  He attempted to make a right-hand turn into a parking lot and was struck by a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle that was trying to go around the Jeep, according to Suffolk County Police. The driver of the motorcycle, a Centereach resident, age 33, was rushed to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries.  …
