Fire Destroys Elmont Senior Center: Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad
A fire destroyed an abandoned senior center on Foster Meadow Lane in Elmont early Saturday, Dec. 14, police announced. Officers and firefighters responded to a blaze at 1888 Foster Meadow Lane at 12:01 a.m., according to the Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad. The structure was fully engulfed when firefighters from Elmont and multiple surrounding departments arrived, investigators said. 48-Year-Old Dies From Injuries Days After Hit-Run Nassau County Crash
A man has died from injuries several days after a hit-and-run crash on Long Island. The victim was struck by a vehicle in Elmont at around 4:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 while crossing Hempstead Turnpike at Elmont Road. The vehicle left the scene westbound on Hempstead Turnpike, Nassau County Police said. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Officers, Guards Injured During Arrests At UBS Arena
Five people were arrested after they allegedly caused disruptions outside of a concert. The incidents occurred on Friday, June 21 in Elmont. According to Nassau County Police, multiple disturbances were reported at UBS Arena, located at 2400 Hempstead Turnpike, during the venue’s MegaBash MX event, which saw multiple popular bands and singers gather under one roof. A Westchester County woman was arrested on Long Island after she refused to leave UBS Arena, injuring an officer in the process. The Nassau County incident took place in Elmont on Tuesday, June 11. At about 11:50 p.m., police arrived at UBS Arena, located at 2400 Hempstead Turnpike.
