State Assemblyman's Home Broken Into By Men In Ski Masks In Rockland County
Outgoing New York State Assemblyman John McGowan (R-District 97) found himself chasing away multiple people wearing ski masks who had broken into his Rockland County home in the middle of the night. McGowan, who represents Orangetown and Ramapo, said he and his wife, Christine, were sleeping when their barking dogs woke him up and caused him to discover the intruders. A small twin-engine plane experiencing mechanical problems landed on the New York State Thruway in the Capital Region Friday, Dec. 20, New York State Police said. The incident occurred after 12 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, just south of Exit 23 of the Thruway in Albany. First responders can be seen on the scene. A Hudson Valley man and woman were nabbed by quick-acting police officers after allegedly stealing packages from a porch. Randy Stoner, 27, and Dusty Norton, age 41, both of Poughkeepsie, were caught on Thursday, Dec. 19, in Poughkeepsie, said Det. Lt. Sean McCarthy of the Poughkeepsie Police. A 51-year-old Hudson Valley man was nabbed for an alleged hit-and-run crash that left the victim in critical condition. New York State Police charged Keith P. McNamara, age 51, of Kingston, on Wednesday, Dec. 18, in the August crash with assault, tampering with physical evidence, and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury. A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after being hit by a car while walking along a Hudson Valley roadway. New York State Police said the incident occurred around 8:45 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, on Route 105 in Monroe. An alleged fentanyl dealer is behind bars after being busted during a "buy" by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force. Bernard Diggs, of Poughkeepsie, was charged on Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the area of South Cherry Street on the south side of Poughkeepsie. According to Det. Sgt. Adam Harris of the task force, agents focused on Diggs after receiving tips and began buying drugs from him. A longtime police sergeant from the Hudson Valley has been suspended for 30 days without pay after allegedly being caught and charged with driving while intoxicated. According to New York State Trooper Jennifer Alvarez, Eric J. VanAllen, age 46, of Kingston, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 13, for DWI after he was found sleeping in a 2025 Dodge Ram pickup at an intersection in Gardiner. Woman Missing Almost 2 Weeks In Sullivan County, Sheriff Says
The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help locating a woman who has been missing for almost two weeks. The Sheriff's Office said Gina F. Intranuovo, age 31, of Swan Lake, was last seen on Saturday, Dec. 7, wearing a blue winter coat, black pants, black boots, and a pink purse. Intranuovo is 5-foot-6, has brown hair and eyes, and is 180 pounds. Anyone with information concerning Intranuovo's whereabouts is urged to contact the Sheriff's Office at 845-794-7100 ext. 1. A 24-year-old Hudson Valley woman jumped to her death from the Moodna Viaduct, which carries Metro-North Railroad's Port Jervis Line over the Moodna Creek early this week. Ryley S. Buononato, a resident of Amenia in Dutchess County, jumped around 2:45 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, according to an MTA spokesman. Update: Police ID Victim In 3-Vehicle Orange County Crash
Police have identified a 40-year-old Hudson Valley man who was killed in a three-vehicle crash. Alberto Mata, of Chester, was killed around 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, on Route 94 (Main St.), in front of the Chester Firehouse, said the Village of Chester Police. An exact cause for the crash that involved two SUVs and a pickup truck was not immediately apparent. The crash remains under investigation.

A five-car crash in Orange County on I-84 westbound has sent five people to the hospital with minor injuries. The incident occurred at 60 Gove St. in the City of Newburgh at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, December 12.
