Worker Flown After 20-Foot Fall From Ladder At Long Island Construction Site: Police
A construction worker sustained serious injuries after falling 20 feet at a job site on Long Island on Wednesday morning, Jan. 15, police said. The incident occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Highland Avenue in Sea Cliff, where the 43-year-old man was working on a ladder at a residential construction site, Nassau County police said. Detectives from the Sixth Squad reported that the victim fell while on the job, suffering serious injuries from the height. Swimming Discouraged At 14 Long Island Beaches Over Bacteria Concerns
You’ll want to think twice about taking a dip in these Long Island beaches. The Nassau County Department of Health issued an advisory Thursday, July 18, against swimming at 14 beaches known to be impacted by stormwater runoff. Health officials said recent heavy rainfall in the region may have led to elevated bacteria levels that exceed the New York State standards for bathing water quality.
