Worker Flown After 20-Foot Fall From Ladder At Long Island Construction Site: Police A construction worker sustained serious injuries after falling 20 feet at a job site on Long Island on Wednesday morning, Jan. 15, police said. The incident occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Highland Avenue in Sea Cliff, where the 43-year-old man was working on a ladder at a residential construction site, Nassau County police said. Detectives from the Sixth Squad reported that the victim fell while on the job, suffering serious injuries from the height. The Nassau County Department of Health issued an advisory Thursday, July 18, against swimming at 14 beaches known to be impacted by stormwater runoff.
