Brush Fire Spreads To Multiple Homes In Pittsfield A small brush fire in Berkshire County Friday afternoon, Nov. 8, spread to multiple homes, causing major damage, authorities said.  Firefighters were called to 8-10 Scamwell Avenue in Pittsfield just before 4:30 p.m. after a bushfire leaped onto a two-family home and a large deck at nearby 15 Draper Ave., authorities said.  Pittsfield firefighters, assisted by multiple other local agencies, were able to put the fire out by 5 p.m., though the homes sustained significant damage, officials said.  No one was injured in the blaze.  Authorities said two families lived a…

Bridgeport Man Guilty Of Sexually Abusing 8-Year-Old Faces Up To 165 Years In Prison: DA A 62-year-old Connecticut man was convicted this week of sexually assaulting a child for months more than a decade ago, authorities said.  Heyward Curry, of Bridgeport in Fairfield County, was found guilty on Wednesday, Nov. 6, of three counts each of sexual assault in the first degree and risk of injury to a minor, the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice said.  Curry faces up to 165 years in prison when he is sentenced on Jan. 13, 2025.  Authorities said Curry sexually abused an 8-year-old boy for months in the summer of 2014. Do You Know Them?: Police Hope To ID Bridgeport Smoke Shop Robbers Police in Connecticut are asking for the public's help to track down a group of people who robbed a Fairfield County smokeshop earlier this year.  Police were called to S&B Smoke Shop at 1224 Park Ave in Bridgeport just after 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 23.  An employee had chased someone out into the street after they stole several items from the store. Bridgeport Police canvassed the area but were unable to find the suspects.
