Someone Set Van On Fire Outside Nassau County Home, Police Seeking Tips
Police are investigating after someone set a van on fire outside a Long Island home. The incident happened in North Valley Stream at a residence on Franklin Avenue shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. Nassau County Police said someone poured a flammable liquid on a Ford Econoline van that was parked in a driveway and set the vehicle on fire. A Long Island man was charged with arson after allegedly throwing an explosive device on a woman's car, causing heaving damage. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023, in North Merrick. According to the Nassau County Arson/Bomb Squad, James Luca, age 46, of North Merrick, ignited an explosive device and threw it onto the hood of a female victim’s car, located in the driveway of her Sherman Avenue home. A man lost a finger in a Fourth of July fireworks mishap at a Long Island home that also injured three others, including a child. The incident happened at a Port Jefferson Station home on Foxrun Court at around 10 p.m. Thursday, July 4.
