Hudson Valley Child Sex Abuser Headed To Prison A Hudson Valley man is headed to prison for sexually abusing a child for years, beginning at the age of nine. Rockland County resident Elmer Oviedo Sandoval, 47, of Haverstraw, was sentenced to six years in state prison on Tuesday, Oct. 29, for the course of sexual conduct against a child, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh. Hudson Valley Man Nabbed For Pair Of Commercial Burglaries, Police Say A Hudson Valley man was nabbed for two alleged commercial burglaries within the past week. Rockland County resident Brawian Olivero Duran, age 22, of Haverstraw, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 15. According to Haverstraw Police Chief John Gould, Duran was charged with the following: Two counts of burglary Petty larceny  Possession of burglar tools He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. It happened around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 29 in Rockland County. That's when the bicyclist was struck by a vehicle in the village of Pomona at the intersection of High Mountain Road and Overlook Road.
