$26.3 Million Road Project Begins In Hudson Valley Work has started on a section of Hudson Valley roadway to upgrade drainage systems, fortify stone, resurface the road, and more. According to New York Gov. Car Rolls Over On Road In Hudson Valley, Causes Temporary Closure One lane of a Hudson Valley road was temporarily closed after a car flipped, firefighters said. The crash happened in Putnam County on Friday, Oct. 18 just before 8 a.m., when a vehicle flipped at the intersection of Hill Street and Lakeside Road in Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department.  Arriving first responders evaluated the driver. However, they declined any medical attention.  One lane of traffic was closed for a short time while crews operated at the crash scene.  The cause of the crash was not released.

$32M Resurfacing Project Begins On I-287 Stretch Work has commenced on a multi-million dollar project that will restore a well-used stretch of highway in Westchester, officials announced.  In an announcement this week, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said a $32.4 million resurfacing project has started on a 5.5-mile stretch of Interstate 287 (Cross Westchester Expressway) between Westchester Avenue in Harrison and Route 1 in Rye.  According to Hochul, the project will repair road joints, add new pavement, and upgrade road striping on the stretch of highway, which is part of one of the busiest roadways in the Hudson Valley. …

Crash Slows Traffic On Busy Hudson Valley Roadway A collision involving a truck impacted traffic on a busy route in the Hudson Valley. The crash happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, July 17, when vehicles collided on Route 9 near the entrance of The Bird & Bottle Inn, according to the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company. Arriving first responders found the drivers out of their vehicles and stayed at the scene to control traffic and clean debris. The vehicles involved in the crash, including a truck, were later towed away.

Update: New Bridge For Pedestrians, Cyclists Installed Over Thruway In Westchester Following a busy night of extensive road work, a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge has been installed over the New York Thruway in Westchester, officials announced.  The 270-foot-long bridge was installed on Saturday morning, June 29 along Route 9 (South Broadway) over Interstate 87 in Tarrytown, the New York State Thruway Authority announced.  The bridge is part of a $13.9 million multimodal project to extend the new Tappan Zee Bridge side path one mile south to Lyndhurst Mansion.
