Mass Shooting Outside NY Venue Occurred During Memorial For Teen Who Was Shot To Death Authorities released new details in a mass shooting outside a New York music venue late on New Year's Day that injured nearly a dozen victims. The shooting occurred in Queens, at the Amazura event venue near 143rd Street and 91st Avenue in Jamaica, at around 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1. NYPD officials said several people were waiting to enter the venue when three to four gunmen opened fire, hitting six female and four male victims.
