Residents Evaluated After Bathroom Blaze Fills Hudson Valley Home With Smoke
Residents were evaluated for smoke exposure following a bathroom fire in their Hudson Valley home. The blaze happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, July 31 just before 6 a.m., when an oil burner malfunction was reported at a Mahopac home on Mountain View Drive. According to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, arriving crews found smoke filling the residence and soon determined an oil burner did not cause the blaze but began in a bathroom wastebasket. A two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley seriously injured a woman. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 3:40 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, on Route 9 near Rochambeau Lane in the town of Poughkeepsie. According to Capt. Michael O'Dowd of the town of Poughkeepsie Police said a 2017 Chevrolet sedan driven by a Poughkeepsie man made a left turn from the southbound side of South Road into the northbound side of South Road. A mayday call was answered when firefighters rescued one of their brethren at a smoky Lodi house fire, responders at the scene said. The fire on Union Street across from Woodside Street apparently ignited in the attached garage around 7 p.m. Friday, June 14. Flames quickly blew through the roof. A Hudson Valley man was killed in a two-vehicle crash. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 8 a.m., Thursday, June 13, on Route 52 at the intersection of Leetown Road in the town of East Fishkill. Man, 55, Found Shot Dead In Hudson Valley Parking Lot
Police are searching for a suspect after a 55-year-old man was found shot dead in a parking lot in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 10:20 p.m., Saturday, June 1, in the area of 472 Main St., in Poughkeepsie. According to Det. Lt. Matt Clark of the City of Poughkeepsie Police, responding officers found the man at the top of the parking area. He was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, where he later died, Clark said. Police have not identified the victim.
