38-Year-Old Putnam Man Accused Of Stealing Over $3K In Power Grid Material
A Hudson Valley man has been hit with grand larceny charges after allegedly stealing wire and other power grid material from a contractor working with a utility company in Northern Westchester, police said. Putnam County resident Michael Dziedzic of Mahopac, age 38, was arrested on Friday, Aug. 9 in connection with the alleged theft, New York State Police announced on Monday, Aug. 26. A 22-year-old Hudson Valley man was killed after allegedly attempting to pass another vehicle on the Thruway. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 11:25 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, on I-87 in Clarkstown. Police in the Hudson Valley are searching for three men who allegedly robbed and shot at another man outside of a popular Asian restaurant. A man on an outing with his family at Harriman State Park drowned after jumping into the lake and swimming about 100 feet away. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18, at Lake Sebago in Stony Point. A man from the region murdered both of his parents before jumping to his death from a highway bridge in upstate New York, police said. Troopers in Albany were called about a man threatening to jump from the Patroon Island Bridge (I-90) at around 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15. Hudson Valley 19-Year-Old Drowns In Home Pool
A 19-year-old Hudson Valley man died after being found unresponsisve in a home pool. The incident occurred in Orange County around 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15 on Meadow Streeet in the town of Newburgh. According to Lt. Fatal Crash: 31-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Hudson Valley
A 31-year-old motorist was killed after crashing into a tree. The incident happened around 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, in Columbia County. An investigation determined that a motorcycle driven by Schenectady County resident Randall D. Collins, age 31, of the town of Glenville, was traveling east on Route 28 in the town of Kinderhook when he went off the south shoulder, through a field and struck a tree, according to New York State Police. Collins was pronounced dead at the scene. Niverville Fire and Greenport Rescue assisted state police. The investigation is ongoing.
