Fire crews in Dutchess County battled a car fire after a vehicle crashed into a tree and became engulfed in flames, officials said. The incident happened in the town of Rhinebeck on Friday, Jan. 31, at around 12:30 a.m., when firefighters were dispatched to the area of Hilltop Road for a reported vehicle fire, according to the Rhinebeck Fire Department. A car fire in the driveway of a Hudson Valley home threatened to spread to the nearby structure but was brought under control. firefighters said. The incident happened in Orange County on Thursday, Jan. 23 at around 6:20 a.m., when the Washingtonville Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire in the driveway of a residence on Alexander Drive, according to the village's fire department. Car Engulfed By Flames On Saw Mill Parkway
A car fire on a busy parkway in Westchester sent plumes of smoke into the air and impacted traffic. The blaze broke out on Sunday, Dec. 1 just after 6:30 a.m., when a vehicle caught on fire on the northbound Saw Mill River Parkway in Irvington, according to the village's fire department. The flames completely consumed the car as firefighters raced to put it out. The Elmsford Fire Department helped with the effort and the Westchester County Police Department helped direct traffic at the scene. The cause of the blaze was not released.

A stretch of Interstate 84 in the Hudson Valley was temporarily closed to traffic after a car went up in flames on the shoulder. The blaze happened in Putnam County on Saturday evening, Sept. 21, when a vehicle caught on fire on Interstate 84 West in Brewster, according to the village's fire department. A beloved musician was killed in a crash and subsequent car fire in the region as good Samaritans desperately tried to save him. The Greene County incident happened at around 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, on State Route 9W in Catskill.
