Suffolk County Police say they observed a purple 2023 Dodge Charger doing donuts in the hamlet of Shirley at around 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 at the intersection of Montauk Highway and William Floyd Parkway. The vehicle stalled and the man left the vehicle and fled on foot. Following an investigation, officers determined the vehicle was a rental. A white box truck was traveling southbound on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, near Flower Hill Drive, when it struck a 2015 Kia Optima at 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26.  The driver of the box truck fled the scene. Fatal Crash: 38-Year-Old From Farmingville ID'd As Victim In Shirley A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash overnight on Long Island. It happened around 10:15 p.m. Sunday, May 26, in Shirley. Suffolk County Police said the man was driving a 2015 Infiniti Q50 southbound on William Floyd Parkway, just north of Robinwood Drive, when he lost control of the car.  The vehicle struck a metal guardrail and overturned multiple times.
