Woman Attacked By Dog At Long Island Home
A woman is recovering after being attacked by a dog on Long Island. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Elmont. Nassau County Police officers responding to the Newburgh Street residence found the 81-year-old had suffered multiple lacerations to various parts of her body. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries. She is currently listed in stable condition. The Nassau County Emergency Service Unit (ESU) responded and secured the animals. The investigation is ongoing.

Child Airlifted, 2 Women Injured In Dog Attack At Long Island Home
A young girl was seriously injured in a dog attack that also hurt two women on Long Island. Emergency crews were called to a Hicksville residence on Lantern Road for a dog bite at around 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15. Nassau County Police said officers found a girl and two women suffering from bites. They also located two dogs inside the home. A Long Island woman formally accepted responsibility after her dog mauled a 2-year-old boy and injured the child’s uncle. Amy Willi, age 45, of Mastic, pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Prosecutors said Willi opened her front door while the boy was playing in his yard across the street in March 2023. As soon as the door opened, her dog ran outside and went toward the boy. A group of people and a handful of dogs were arrested after police said they were caught illegally living inside a dead person’s home. The New Hyde Park incident took place on Thursday, June 20, Nassau County Police said.
