Wegmans Arrives On Long Island: Shoppers Flock To Newest Store For Upstate Cult Favorite A supermarket with tremendous support from fans in upstate New York has finally made it onto Long Island. Wegmans Food Markets officially opened its Lake Grove supermarket at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26. The 101,000-square-foot store is located at 3270 Middle Country Road in the DSW Plaza at Lake Grove. This is the first Wegmans location on Long Island, joining 49 other locations across New York. Weeks Of Southern State Parkway Closures Planned Weeks of scheduled closures on Southern State Parkway could spell delays for drivers. In Babylon, the westbound Southern State Parkway will be closed between exit 39 and exit 32 weeknights from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., beginning Monday, Oct. 14. The closures will last approximately five weeks to facilitate a pavement resurfacing project, the New York State Department of Transportation said. Both Directions Of LIE To Close For Maintenance: Here's Where, When Traffic officials have announced a new set of closures which will shut down both directions of the Long Island Expressway. Starting on Monday, June 17, and lasting approximately four weeks, both directions of I-495 will be closed between Exits 37 (Willis Avenue) and 39 (Glen Cove Road) in North Hempstead. According to the New York State Department of Transportation, the closures will take place on weeknights between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The closures are to facilitate maintenance on the Roslyn Road bridge and are weather permitting.
